Bridge 5 Mill

Architect isometric plan for an office An office built with ply, bamboo and fire escape

Commercial / Adaptive Re-Use / Interior and Furniture Design

In 2021, Carbon Co-op (Energy Services and Advocacy Co-operative) acquired a new office space in a Manchester Mill building. The new office needed to deliver an inviting and flexible space that is timber focussed with sustainable materials used throughout. The space has been reconfigured to provide a range of working environments for individual and group working.

The existing steel structure, necessitated bespoke furniture design to accommodate up to 14 desk spaces. We worked closely with the furniture makers to deliver a modular solution that was quick to manufacture and install. A range of existing furniture items were also transformed to suit the new space (rather than buy new). The fit-out is still ongoing.

Undertaken as Associate Architect at LJ Architects Ltd.
